Queen Elizabeth II
1926-2022
St James Church in Audley was open from 9.00am throughout the 10 days of mourning as people came in to reflect and give thanks for the life of her Majesty the Queen.
Muffled bells rang out at various times.
There was a short service at 7.00pm on Friday 9th September to share our sadness at her death and to remind ourselves of the great King she served. You can listen to a recording here (hymns edited out as they don't record well)
As always, everyone was warmly invited to Sunday services at 9.00am (St James), 9.15am (St John's), 10.30am (St James) and 6.00pm (St Martin's) where we gave thanks for the Queen's faithfulness to us, and God's faithfulness to her.
There was a brief gathering for hymn singing with Audley Brass Band on the church steps around the time of the minute's silence at 8.00pm on Sunday 18th September.
Flowers outside the church building remained until after her funeral.
There was a book of remembrance to sign at St James, Audley from 9.00am on Saturday 10th September .
A book of remembrance will be available at St John's, Alsagers Bank from Monday 12th September.

May God save the King!
Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
